ArmInfo. Armenian Agriculture Ministry Ignatiy Arakelyan visited Aragatsotn and Kotayk districts on the eve, where he monitored the process of purchasing fruit and vegetable products.
According to the department's press service, the head of Ministry of Agriculture, accompanied by Governor of Aragatsotn Ashot Simonyan, visited the Tamara Fruit JSC, where he got acquainted with the production capacities of the enterprise, development programs. As the general director of the company Boris Hovhannisian pointed out, the main direction of the enterprise's activity is the processing of fruits and vegetables and their quick freezing. In the current year, production volumes increased by 20%. The company's products are mainly exported, including to the USA, Europe, Russia, Israel and the UAE. Having its own sowing areas, in the near future the company intends to introduce a system of drip irrigation, Hovhannisyan said.
In 2017, the volume of purchases of fruit and vegetable products increased by Euroterm JSC, which produces canned goods, juices, preserves, concentrates and nectars. As reported to the minister in the company, for today 1100 tons of apricots are harvested, the process of buying peaches will begin soon. The main markets for products are Russia, where up to 90% of exports go. According to Vahe Ghazaryan, the general director of the company, in order to increase the efficiency of its own cultivated areas, from 2014, Euroterm switched to drip irrigation. The company plans to use the available loans of the Ministry of Agriculture for the procurement companies.
In the Kotayk district of Armenia, Ignatiy Arakelyan visited the companies Artashes and BBV Group, got acquainted with the plans of the enterprises. The company noted the importance of a new program for the state-owned enterprises in the sphere.
