Karen Karapetyan added that in order to implement these programs, the "Electronic Armenia" foundation was created, and the government of the republic is ready to move forward in this direction, cooperating with Microsoft.
In his turn, Ronald Binkofsky expressed the readiness of the company to assist Armenia in implementing the digital agenda, adding that productive discussions had already been held with representatives of various departments in this direction. According to him, when implementing such projects, Microsoft has a wealth of experience and opportunities that can be directed to the implementation of the digital Armenia program.
On August 3 this year. The Armenian government decided to create a special fund called Digital Armenia. "The purpose of the fund is to support the introduction of digital technologies in all parts of government, which will increase the effectiveness of the management system and help the private sector," said the head of the government apparatus Vahe Stepanyan.
According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the information technology sector in 2016 demonstrated a record growth of 38.2%, which is the highest since 2008. If in the previous 9 years the average annual growth of the entire Armenian economy was 1.9%, then the average annual growth in the sphere of information technologies was 12.7%.
