ArmInfo. In the government of Armenia, under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan, preparations for the three major events to be held in 2018 were discussed.
According to the press service of the government, it is about preparing for the summit of Francophonie, the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Armenia and the 2800th anniversary of the founding of Yerevan.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Edward Nalbandian presented details of the preparation and holding of the 17th International Forum of the International Organization of Francophonie in Armenia. Yerevan Vice-Mayor Aram Sukiasyan reported on the process of preparation and holding of events dedicated to the 2800th anniversary of the capital of Armenia. The head of the government apparatus Vahe Stepanyan reported on the events to be held within the framework of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Armenia.
The Prime Minister of Armenia pointed out the importance of holding these three events, stressing that they should be held at a high level and at the proper level. Karen Karapetyan instructed the relevant departments to be active and responsible in the matter of holding the forum of Francophonie. "Everyone in their place should be involved as fully as possible in all organizational work, and the relevant working groups should work in this direction in a coordinated manner," the Armenian government head said.
He instructed within one week to summarize all the proposals for the three events, clarify the planned activities and submit specific programs. It should be reminded that on October 21 of this year a similar meeting on the same issues was held by RA President Serzh Sargsyan. He said that the forum of the Francophonie, which will be held on October 11- 12, 2018, will bring the leaders of 50 countries.
