ArmInfo. In Brussels, the agreement between Armenia and the EU on the common aviation zone has been initialed. As the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reports, the document was initialed by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Karen Nazaryan and the chief negotiator of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport, Klaus Geil.
Among a number of preferences for the parties, the agreement also provides for the possibility of Armenia joining the EU single aviation zone, the introduction of advanced European experience in the aviation sphere of Armenia.
On November 24, at the margins of the Eastern Partnership summit in Brussels, Armenia signed the Agreement on Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership with the European Union. The signatures under the agreement were put by the Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and the head of European diplomacy Federica Mogerini. The document was signed in the presence of RA President Serzh Sargsyan and the chairman of the European Council Donald Tusk.
The agreement on a comprehensive and expanded partnership has already become public. The accent in the extensive 357-page document is put on the affirmation of justice, freedom, security in Armenia; reforming the Constitution and the judiciary; observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms, etc. All this is provided that the European Union participates in financing various projects in Armenia.
