ArmInfo. In 11 months of the year, the metallurgical industry of Armenia increased production by 11.4% per annum, against 6.3% decline for the same period in 2016. According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, in January-November 2017, production of ferromolybdenum in Armenia increased by 3.9% compared to the same period of the previous year, amounting to 6 098 tons. Only in November ferromolybdenum was produced 577 tons, which is by 12.3% more than October volume.
In Jan-Nov 2017 the production of molybdenum concentrate increased by 3.8% to 10133 tons, and only in November the growth was registered by 16.9% - up to 929 tons. The production of converter (rough) copper decreased in Jan-Nov by 7% - to 10,835 tons. At the same time, in the monthly section, the production of converter (rough) copper increased by 9.6% to 1118 tons. The production of copper concentrate increased by 10.1% per annum in January-November to 393.7 thousand tons, and only in November the volume of production amounted to 37.8 thousand tons, with a monthly decline of 4.3%.
Production of aluminum foil in January-November amounted to 30,349 tons with an annual growth of 15.8%, but only in November the output of aluminum foil increased by 0.6% to 3,039 tons. The volume of output of aluminum rolled products for January-November amounted to 542 tons, which is 97 times higher than the same period of the previous year, against the decline of 47.7% a year earlier.
The production of steel pipes increased in January-November to 34.5% per annum - up to 9,834.7 tons, but only in November - decreased by 13.6% to 937 tons. The production of zinc concentrate increased in Jan- Nov by 16.3% per annum - up to 8,555 tons, of which only in November there were 492 tons with a decline of 41.3%.
Data on the production of molybdenum briquettes in the statistics of the reporting period are absent, while a year earlier in the same period the volume was 367 tons.
All metals produced in Armenia are exported, mainly to Europe and the USA.
In 2016, the metallurgical industry of Armenia reduced production by 11.1% per annum, against a 0.5% decline in 2015. In particular, the production of molybdenum briquettes was reduced by 50.9%, aluminum rolled products by 47.7%, steel pipes by 22.6%, zinc concentrate by 30.3% and aluminum foil by 2.1%, while in 2016, growth was recorded for the production of ferromolybdenum - by 16.9%, convertor (rough) copper - by 11.4%, copper concentrate - by 23.1%, and molybdenum concentrate by 2.1%.
