15,1 billion drams allocated for 2018 roads construction in Armenia

ArmInfo. In 2017 at the expense  of the state budget in Armenia, roads were repaired in the amount of  12.3 billion drams. The funds were used to repair 46 km of  interstate, 10 km of republican and 13 km of community roads. This  was stated on January 17 at  the Ministry of Transport,  Communications and IT of Armenia during the meeting with the  participation of Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan was informed by the  general director of the "Armavtodor" SNCO Ashot Arshakyan.

According to the press service of the government, the prime minister  was informed that in 2017 repairs and commissioning of the M-2  section, Yerevan-Yeraskh-Goris-Meghri-border with Iran, as well as  works on asphalting of 850 meters of the road were completed  Kuchak-Egyptoprush, M-3. The work was planned to be completed in  2018. According to Arshakyan, in 2018, 15.1 billion drams are  envisaged for road construction work, of which 6.5 billion drams will  be spent for capital repairs, 1.9 billion drams for medium road  repairs, 6.7 billion drams billion drams - for maintenance. It is  planned to repair 50 km of interstate, 12 km of republican and 10 km  of community roads. The Prime Minister noted that the volume of works  performed constitutes a small percentage of the total demand in the  road construction sector, and the targets set for this purpose should  be increased.

First of all, he instructed to increase the amount of roads that  require major repairs as follows: 60 km of interstate roads, 15.6 km  of republican roads and 13 km of community roads. The head of  government also noted the need to classify roads and develop optimal  logistics, digitize the data and present the corresponding map.

The Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan turned to the average  tariff for construction works, which in 2017 compared with 2016 did  not decrease. He stressed that it is necessary to conduct active and  effective work in order to save money. "In all spheres, in terms of  purchases, we are saving money, and we expect the same in this  sector." In 2018, the tariff for a construction unit should at least  be reduced by 15- 20%, and cost reduction should be achieved. "During  the hearing of the reports for 2017 I will check this figure for all  ministries, because in 2017 I expected that the cost price of our  actions and steps should decrease, "the head of government said,  instructing him to submit an analysis of the tariff policy for 2017.

Vardan Karapetyan, General Director of SNCO "Transport Program  Implementation Company", presented information on the implementation  of 12 credit and grant projects in 2017, in particular, the focus was  on the project to improve the interstate route M6 for the development  of the North-South transport corridor, and on the implementation  program of reconstruction of the bridge over Bagratashen. The overall  productivity was 83.7%, and the actual performance was 41.4 billion  drams. 2,484,109 cu. meter of excavation, 43 bridges and overpasses  were repaired, 28,044 meters of drainage systems were restored, 69.7  km of asphalt works were completed. A 64.85 km long section of the  road was repaired, which is of vital importance.

First Deputy Minister of Transport Gagik Grigoryan presented the work  on the development of a unified transport network, as a result of  which the number of unserved communities decreased from 220 to 170,  and as a short-term solution 50 communities were included in existing  interregional routes. The Armenian government adopted a technical  task to create a single route network, during which data were  collected, on the basis of which the regions were divided into large  cities by regions, and optimal routes and their new schedules were  established. "It is necessary to develop and map a single route  network for the entire republic, and not for individual regions.Only  on the map, indicate that ideal transport network to which we aspire  and understand what obstacles in this way are connected with the  tariff, roads, streams and other, "Prime Minister Karapetyan said and  gave corresponding instructions.

Deputy Minister Boris Demirkhanyan reported on the work in the IT  field. In particular, as he noted, the program of stimulating  services in the sphere was approved, as well as a schedule of events.  Work is planned on the transition from the 3G network to 4G +.
