ArmInfo. The newly appointed Ambassador of Nigeria to Armenia Ibrahim Khamzat (residence - Tehran) presented his credentials to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.
According to the press service of Armenian Head, Sargsyan expressed hope that during the activity of the Ambassador in this post, the cooperation between Armenia and Nigeria will develop not only on international platforms, but also in bilateral format on a number of mutually beneficial directions.
The sides agreed that in the modern world, geographical remoteness is not an obstacle to the development of interaction.
The President of Armenia stressed the importance of creating the necessary legal and contractual bases between the two countries, as well as holding inter-ministerial consultations. Meanwhile, Khamzat noted that Nigeria is interested in deepening relations with Armenia especially in the economic sphere, and informed that his country is now taking active steps towards diversification of the economy. The ambassador stressed that there is an interest in developing cooperation in the mining industry, where Armenia has serious experience, as well as in such areas as agriculture, healthcare, education.
