ArmInfo. Armenia attaches importance to the assistance of the French government in the construction of the Vedi reservoir. On January 18, Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of Armenia Ashot Manukyan stated during the meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Jonathan Lacote.

According to the press service of the department, during the meeting, the Armenian minister emphasized the role of Velia Jur in attracting new quality to Armenia's water management system. Taking into account the company's extensive experience, cooperation opportunities in the energy sector are also being discussed with it. In particular, it is about the implementation of the program of electricity generation from waste processing in the Kotayk region.

Speaking about cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, Ashot Manukyan stressed the importance of cooperation, especially in the field of spent nuclear fuel management. The Minister expressed the conviction that cooperation in this direction will continue in the future.  Thanking for the reception, Jonathan Lacote noted that in the Armenian-French relations cooperation in the energy sector is a priority. A number of French companies are already working in this area. In the Ambassador's opinion, interest in the Armenian market will increase significantly after the adoption of the law on cooperation between the state and the private sector. This law is expected by numerous companies.  Informed that the draft law is already ready, the minister called not to wait for its adoption. "The government has adopted a concept that works out of this bill, which is working successfully.In the framework of the document, the first major project will be the construction of the Shnokh Hydroelectric Power Station, in which the American company Robins participates," the minister said, adding that the second major program could be a project related to French companies "Schneider Electric." Based on the public-private partnership, it is planned to build a solar power station with a capacity of 10 MW in Ddmashen district. chalis contacts with the battery manufacturers from LG and TESLA companies.  Discussions on the possibility of participation in this project, "Schneider Electric" will begin in the near future.
