"I am more than confident that we have a high demand for grapes, and the number of those who want to produce wine will gradually grow," the prime minister said.
In this regard, Minister Arakelyan said that the volume of harvesting grapes by the end of 2017 increased by 1%, with the growth of harvesting of fruits - by 21% and vegetables - by 11%. In addition, the head of the agricultural department noted that work on keeping the cadastre of grape crops in Armenia has already begun. "Within 2 years we will be able to complete the register of all vineyards existing in the republic," he stressed.
According to the data of the Customs Service of Armenia, in the first half of 2017 Armenia exported 1.2 million liters of wine, with an annual growth of 61%, with the increase in customs value by 84.3% to $ 4.7 million. Over 80% (1 million liters) of Armenian exports fault falls on the Russian market. At the same time, exports to Russia in the reporting period increased by 68.1%.
