ArmInfo. Armenian Ambassador to Great Britain Armen Sargsyan met with the Secretary of State of the United Kingdom for European and American Affairs Alain Dank.

Armenian-British relations, regional developments, negotiations on the United Kingdom's exit from the EU (Brexit), as well as issues related to the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict were discussed at the meeting, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo.

The interlocutors also touched upon the further development of bilateral trade and economic relations, underscoring the importance of joint initiatives in this field that can further improve the business environment in Armenia and increase investment volumes.

It should be noted that according to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Great Britain in January-December 2017 amounted to $ 41.6 million, an annual growth of 41.5% compared to the same period in 2016. Exports totaled $ 5.2 million - an increase of 3.1 times. Imports - $ 36.4 million, an increase of 31.3% compared with the same period in 2016.
