As a comparison, we note that in 2015, the unemployment rate in the country, according to official statistics, was 18.5%, in 2014 - 17.6%. According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the average number of unemployed in Armenia in 2017 was 218.9 thousand, having decreased by 0.6% in the annual section.
According to the source, as of March 1, 2018, 902 citizens were employed in Armenia (an annual increase of 33.6%) or 1.1% of the total number of job seekers. In January-February 2018 in search of work there were 84.5 thousand people, with an annual decline of 12.1%. The number of registered unemployed in Armenia as of March 1, 2018 reached 69.1 thousand, with an annual decline of 14.6%. Of this number, 46,000 were found (with an annual decline of 13.5%), and men - 23.1 thousand (with an annual decline of 16.6%).
In Jan-Feb 2018, the number of applications from employers was 3320 (annual growth of 12.2%) with a load of 1 vacancy in 102 people (a decline of 21.5% per annum).
The number of unemployed as of March 1, 2018 is maintained by Shirak region - 12.8 thousand citizens, followed by the capital - 9.8 thousand, Lori region - 8.9 thousand and Kotayk region - 8.1 thousand, and Ararat region with the number of unemployed in 6.1 thousand.
According to the forecasts of the Central Bank of Armenia, the unemployment rate in 2018 will be 17%, followed by an annual decline of 0.3-0.5%. According to the World Bank forecasts, the unemployment rate in Armenia in 2018 will be 18.1%.
