ArmInfo. RA Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received on April 4 the head of the regional office of Microsoft in the CIS Ronald Binkofsky. According to the press service of the Armenian Government, during the meeting, the interlocutors discussed issues related to the cooperation between Microsoft and the Digital Armenia Foundation in the formation of the country's digital agenda. Karen Karapetyan stressed the importance of implementing this program, and the interaction in this matter with Microsoft.
In turn, Ronald Binkofsky presented various proposals concerning the development of the digital system in state structures and local self-government bodies, the increase in the provision of electronic services, the development of an electronic integration system in the structure of public administration. The head of the office stressed that Microsoft is ready to assist the republic in the implementation of the Digital Armenia project, sharing its rich experience and capabilities.
As ArmInfo informed earlier, in the course of the March 14 this year, "Digital Armenia" Foundation presented the program of activities for 2018, during which the work in the direction of introducing a single platform for electronic services will continue in the public administration system. In addition, it is planned to introduce a system of electronic data entry, an electronic leaflet for incapacity for work, an electronic system of birth certificates. It is also planned to introduce digitization systems for inspector functions in education, a common platform for the "Hot Line" and other electronic systems. This year, it is also planned to combine the system of the State Food Safety Service with a single electronic platform Trade.gov.am. This will allow businesses to provide more than 10 permits and 40 types for a shorter period of time. The pilot launch
of the system is scheduled for July, and full use is for September.
We would like to remind that on March 7, 2017 Microsoft announced the appointment of Ronald Binkofsky as Microsoft's general director in Kazakhstan, as well as the head of the regional office in the CIS. He is responsible for business development in the region, which includes 9 countries - Armenia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Balarus, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Prior to his appointment, Ronald Binkofsky headed Microsoft's office in Poland for four years, and before that, for 2.5 years in Romania.
