ArmInfo. The revised Concept for the Development of Armenia until 2030 was the subject of discussions during the meeting held on the eve of RA President Serzh Sargsyan.
According to the press service of the Armenian leader, the work on the development of the document involved executive structures of the republic, which previously held numerous thematic discussions with the participation of formed working groups. The secretariat of the working groups was entrusted to the Center for Strategic Initiatives.
During the meeting, the President raised a number of issues of principle concerning the development prospects of Armenia. "It is necessary, in particular, to ensure sustainable and high rates for the development of an innovative economy, which must be perceptible for every citizen of Armenia, as well as to achieve the nationwide goals of bringing the population of 4 million people to 2030 by the year 2030. In this regard, it is necessary to develop clear and proportionate measures aimed at achieving the targets by 2040. We agreed that we will make every effort to develop human capital, which means a significant increase in the financing of education and health. We made a commitment, and the program should fix the provision on the creation up to 2030 of several hundred thousand new jobs, which will ensure a high salary. Special attention should be paid to reducing unemployment among young people, if not to say about bringing it to zero, "said Serzh Sargsyan. According to him, by creating new jobs and solving the problem with wages, unemployment will be substantially reduced. "It is an extremely important task. It is also necessary to bear in mind the need for significant work to improve the tax field, increase the share of taxes in the country's GDP. We must achieve a significant reduction in the shadow economy and paperwork in a short time, not until 2030, without which it is impossible to regulate the ratio of taxes to GDP, which is a prerequisite for the implementation of the budget expenditures, "the RA President stressed.
According to him, the tax policy of the state should consist in the transition from direct taxes to indirect taxes. "I think this is is also very important, because if we plan to provide 5% or more growth, forming a competitive economy. If we consider export promotion as one of the main directions and creation of new jobs at the expense of this, naturally, we must be competitive, "the Armenian leader said.
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan briefly presented the process of accomplishment of the works and the results, noting that a real program has been developed, which presents the goals aimed at reforming the economy and the quality of life, as well as the planned steps.
Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Integration and Reforms of Armenia Vache Gabrielyan and Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan reported at the meeting on the target indicators of the development strategy of Armenia until 2030 and the main approaches.
