A number of light and alcohol industry enterprises of Armenia will be  provided with state support

ArmInfo. A number of light and  alcohol industry enterprises will be provided with state support. The  Armenian government at the meeting on April 5 granted tax preferences  in the form of exemption from payment of import customs duties.

As the Minister of Economic Development and Investments Suren Karayan  stated, presenting the application of "Armenia Vine" company on  exemption of import customs duty on imported equipment, within the  framework of the investment program, it was necessary to import an  additional batch of equipment for 552.5 million AMD.

LLC "Alex Textiles" also applied for a tax exemption on exemption  from payment of import customs duty on imported equipment and raw  materials for a sum of 706.3 million drams. The company, which,  according to media reports, belongs to the family of the National  Assembly deputy from the ruling Republican Party Samvel Aleksanyan,  plans to create 80 new jobs with an average monthly salary of 70  thousand AMD within the framework of the investment program. The  production for the amount of 638.8mln AMD will be sold on the  territory of Armenia, the products worth 833.6mln AMD will be  exported to Russia, and 2.5mln AMD will be exported to Italy. By  another decision, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a similar  application by Zenny (a trademark of Sali), engaged in the production  of footwear and accessories. The tax privilege will extend to the  import of equipment and raw materials for a total cost of 69.5  million AMD. Within the framework of the investment program, 10 new  jobs will be created with an average monthly salary of 80 thousand  AMD. Part of the produced products will be sold on the territory of  the Republic of Armenia, the rest will be exported to the Unified  Energy System and Georgia.
