In Armenia, the growth of economic activity in the first quarter of 2018 accelerated to 10.6% from 6.6% a year earlier

ArmInfo.  In Armenia, economic  activity in Jan-March 2018 compared to Jan-March 2017 increased by  10.6%. According to the National Statistical Service of the Republic  of Armenia, the growth drivers this time were all sectors without  exception, construction - 23%, services - 16.5% and trade - 12.9%,  against the backdrop of a modest ascent of the industrial sector - 8,  2%, the agricultural sector - 2.2% and the energy complex - 0.4%. In  comparison with last year's pace, growth was observed in trade and  services, slowing growth in the industrial sector and energy complex,  and the agricultural sector and construction provided the exit from  the recession, and the construction sector, which was significantly  behind the rest of the industry in terms of volume, managed to become  the leader in terms of growth. -
