In Armenia, local self-government revenues grow

ArmInfo. As a result of the  program of the consolidation of communities in Armenia, 52  communities have been formed from 465 communities. acting First  Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Development of  Armenia Vache Terteryan told TV channel "Yerkir Media".

According to him, currently there are 502 communities in the country,  and the number of non- enlarged communities is 450. On average, 8.9  communities with an average population of 12,560 people are being  consolidated. In 18 large communities, electronic information  management systems were introduced. In general, out of 502  communities, similar systems are planned to be implemented in 400. In  14 communities, offices have been established to serve the population  according to the principle of a "single window".

Vache Terteryan also reported that $ 81.86 million worth of  infrastructure projects have been implemented through grant funds  provided by USAID, the Swiss Development Agency, with the  co-financing of the Armenian government in 18 enlarged communities.

In total, 96 units of construction and maintenance equipment, 47  agricultural machinery, 53 trailers, 2,000 pieces of equipment and  1,200 units of property were purchased with the financing of USAID  and SDA, in the amount of 5.5 billion AMD.

Vache Terteryan also pointed to the importance of dynamic growth of  the communities' own incomes. As of April 30, the annual community  fund raising plan is 43.6 billion AMD, in the first four months of  this year it was planned to collect 12.9 billion AMD, and actual  performance was 12.5 billion AMD, which is 96.9% of the planned. In  comparison with the same period in 2017, the personal incomes of the  communities increased by 19.3% or 2.024 billion AMD. In 2018, it is  planned to increase own revenues by 12% or up to 43.6 billion AMD.

In the framework of the subventions program, oblast administrations  and communities receive 150 applications, of which 84 programs have  been approved. These applications are mainly aimed at capital  investments in communities. In particular, we are talking about the  construction and repair of streets, parks, squares, playgrounds,  buildings and structures, houses of culture, kindergartens, etc. The  total cost of 84 programs is 1.72 billion AMD with 188 million AMD  co-financing from the private sector, and from the state budget for  the project will be directed to 1.45 billion AMD.
