ArmInfo. The program for the construction of a new block at the Yerevan CHP plant valued at $ 300 million will be realized within 25-28 months. On May 17, during a meeting with Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the general executive director of the Italian company "Renko" Giovanni Roubini said.
According to the press service of the Armenian government, 250 MW of additional capacity will be created as a result of the project. With the use of modern systems, it will be possible to produce electricity with a low cost. Siemens will implement the program in cooperation with international financial institutions. "We are ready for a quick start to the implementation of the program. In the process of construction, it is planned to create about 1 thousand new jobs," said the CEO of Renko.
RA Prime Minister, welcoming the implementation of the investment program, stressed that Armenia is interested in attracting new investments and creating jobs. "Accordingly, we are interested in the implementation of this project," said Nikol Pashinyan, proposing coordinating work with relevant departments in order to promote the program.
The interlocutors expressed hope that as a result of effective cooperation between the Armenian government and the Italian company, new investment projects will be implemented in the country.
Earlier, ArmInfo informed that within the framework of the program it is planned to build a block with a combined gas-gas cycle. Since the unit's operation, 200 permanent and highly paid specialists will work on it. The best effective technologies will be used in the construction, and the efficiency will be 53%, while this indicator of the Hrazdan power unit is equal to 44%, Yerevan Thermal Power Plant - 49%. The state is obliged within 20 years to purchase all the electricity produced by the unit at a price of 6 US cents excluding VAT.
