The Ministry of Labor proposes to increase the lump sum at the birth of the second child from 50 to 150 thousand AMD

ArmInfo. The Ministry of Labor  and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia intends to submit a  proposal for the discussion of the government regarding the  determination of the amount of a lump sum for the birth of a child,  approval and establishment of the procedure for its payment. The  Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia Mane Tandilyan stated  this on her Facebook page.

"Of course, the amount of benefits is not sufficient, but within the  budget set for 2017 at this stage it is possible to make minor  changes. As a result of preliminary discussions, it is proposed to  increase the allowance for the birth of a second child from July 1,  2018 - from 50,000 AMD to 150,000", she noted.

The noted changes, according to M. Tandilyan, will not have a  significant impact on the budget. "In the near future, the issue will  be given a more comprehensive and effective solution," the minister  stressed.

According to M. Tandilyan, demographic problems and a high level of  poverty are the most pressing issues that need to be addressed.  "Realizing that all problems can not be solved immediately and  simultaneously, the ministry will do everything within its  capabilities to achieve its goals, even small ones," she said.
