Minister: In 2019, most of the budget allocations for the health  sector will be on the primary link of the sphere

ArmInfo. In 2019, most of the budgetary allocations for the health sector will be at the primary level of the sphere. The Minister of Health of the Republic of  Armenia Arsen Torosyan stated on June 25 during the meeting with the  World Bank Director on Global Health, Nutrition and Population  Practice Fadia Saadai.

According to him, which leads the press service of the ministry, the  primary task for the Ministry of Health is the prevention of  diseases. In this context, some issues related to the introduction of  screening are discussed. At the same time, emphasis will be placed on  restoring the family doctor's institute. "We fix the fight against  smoking at the legislative level, and in the autumn of this year the  revised version of the law will be submitted to the parliament," the  minister said.

During the meeting, the sides highly assessed the level of bilateral  partnership, the positions of Armenia in the various ratings compiled  by the World Bank were also discussed. Fadia Saadai inquired about  those priorities that are directly related to the healthcare sphere,  as well as those programs for which the Bank is expected to provide  financial and technical assistance.

The parties agreed to intensify the interaction through the  forthcoming meetings and give a new impetus to the joint steps being  taken.

The World Bank Group has committed to helping countries ensure  universal coverage of health services by 2030, which can  fundamentally change the health and well-being of individuals and  society as a whole.

In accordance with the concept of universal coverage of medical care  (UHC), all those who need quality medical services will get access to  them without experiencing excessive financial difficulties, and  countries will be able to use their most valuable asset - human  capital - with maximum efficiency.
