The volume of metallurgy in Armenia in the first half of 2018 fell by  15.3% per annum

ArmInfo. The metallurgy industry of Armenia in the first half of 2018 showed a decline of 15.3%, against 7.1% growth for the same period in 2017. According to  the National Statistical Service of Armenia, in the first half of the  year the production of ferromolybdenum in Armenia increased by 2.4%  per annum, to 3,530 tons, against the growth of 19% a year earlier.  Only in June ferromolybdenum produced 598 tons, which is 11.8% May  volume.

In the first half of 2018, the production of molybdenum concentrate  decreased by 3% per annum - up to 5,447 tons, against growth of 6.9%  a year earlier. Only in June, production fell by 0.3% - to 875 tons.  The production of converter (rough) copper declined by 3.9%  year-on-year to 5,722 tonnes (against the 5.8% decline a year  earlier), with a monthly decline of 13% to 841 tonnes. The production  of copper concentrate decreased by 18.6% to 167.7 thousand tons,  against growth of 6.9% a year earlier. On a monthly basis, copper  concentrate production increased by 1.1% to 28.5 thousand tonnes. The  production of zinc concentrate increased during the reporting period  by 30.7% per annum - up to 5,973 tons, against 29.5% growth a year  earlier. In June, the volume of zinc concentrate production increased  by 46% to 1,162 tons.

Production of aluminum foil during the reporting period increased by  3.2% per annum - up to 16 285 tons, against 5.2% growth a year  earlier. In June, the aluminum foil production volume decreased by  1.8% to 2,702 tons. The production of aluminum rolled products for  the reporting period amounted to 151 tons with an annual decline of  66%, against a growth of 148 times a year earlier. Only in June there  were no changes in the production of aluminum rolled products.

The production of steel pipes in the reporting period increased by  0.3% per annum - up to 4 722 tons (against growth of 65.4% a year  earlier), but only in June a growth of 10% was registered - up to 887  tons.

Data on the production of molybdenum briquettes in the statistics of  the reporting period are absent.

All metals produced in Armenia are exported, mainly to Europe and the USA.  In 2017 the metallurgy industry of Armenia increased production by 11.3% per annum, against 11.1% decline for 2016. In particular, the production of ferromolybdenum increased by 1.1%, molybdenum concentrate by 2.8%, copper concentrate grew by 10.3% in 2017, aluminum foil by 14.4%, aluminum rolled products up to 543 tons, steel pipes - by 36.2%, zinc concentrate - by 22.2%. At the same time, the production of converter (rough) copper declined by  6.7% in 2017.
