International Finance Corporation ready to assist private sector in  Armenia

ArmInfo.  On August 2, Prime  Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan received a delegation led by the  regional governor of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a  member of the World Bank, Jan Van Bilsen.

As the press service of the government reports, the prime minister  stressed the importance of developing cooperation between  governmental structures and the private sector with IFC. Pashinyan  expressed hope that active cooperation will stimulate the Armenian  economy and development of the private sector.

Jan Van Bilsen said that the positive changes in Armenia, the  transparent and open style of the work of the Armenian government  create good opportunities for the development of the country,  including the private sector. According to him, IFC is ready to  assist the private sector of Armenia to expand activities and  implement new programs.

In this context, the interlocutors expressed the opinion that  business should have internal effective rules of corporate  governance, work transparently and strive to enter the markets of  public capital.

Armenia has been a member of the International Finance Corporation  since 1995.
