On September 19, taking part in the 59th session of the Council of Heads of Statistical Services of the CIS member states, Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan stated.
According to him, according to the press service of the government, official statistics is a kind of language of communication between states. The Vice-Premier pointed to the important role of statistics in assessing international cooperation, as well as in the development of bilateral and multilateral trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural ties. In this context, the Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the role of the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee and considered it an important platform for discussing issues of interaction and decision-making in the field of statistics.
Chairman of the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS Vladimir Sokolin, expressing gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister for the reception and organization of the next meeting of the Council in Armenia, presented the agenda of the forthcoming meeting. Vladimir Sokolin highly appreciated the activities of the Statistical Committee of Armenia and spoke about the importance of the work carried out by statistical services.
Mher Grigoryan wished the participants of the meeting successful and productive work, expressing hope that the forthcoming discussions will give a new impetus to joint work and will contribute to further strengthening of cooperation in the field of statistics.
