ArmInfo. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is interested in the implementation of energy programs in Armenia. This was announced by Managing Director of the EBRD in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus Matteo Patrone at the meeting with First Deputy Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia Garegin Bagramyan yesterday.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources, during the meeting, Matteo Patrone presented the Bank's priorities for 2019. The interlocutors discussed the Masrik-1 solar power station construction program and the expected investments, as well as the projects implemented in High Voltage Power Lines CJSC. Matteo Patrone stressed that the EBRD is ready to assist in the development of the energy sector of Armenia, both infrastructures and renewable energy and energy efficiency.
Garegin Baghramyan stressed that a new energy development strategy of the country for 2020-2040 is currently being developed, in which all areas of development of the system will find their place, and in this context, conditions will be created for the new cooperation between Armenia and the EBRD.
