ArmInfo. Young professionals studying in ANEL (Armenian National Engineering Laboratories) presented an innovative development CartBot - a device for the  transportation of goods, which allows you to conveniently and more  safely organize your trips at airports, large supermarkets and  industrial buildings.

The authors of CartBot, which is a kind of "smart" cargo cart, are Mkrtich Harutyunyan and David Danielyan, who presented their product to the EU delegation headed by the EU Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Armenia Piotr  Switalski.  The visit of the European mission took place as part of a  press tour to enterprises and start-ups, which were provided with  financial and technical assistance under the EU-SMEDA program.

In an interview with ArmInfo, the specialists noted that the work on  the creation of the device lasted over two years. "At the moment we  are working on the third prototype of this product, concentrating on  expanding the functions that will allow us to carry loads weighing  from 5 to 7 kg," said Mkrtich Harutyunyan. He said that the device  has two USB ports, which makes it possible to charge gadgets and put  the container with a drink, maintaining its temperature at the  desired level.

The device, according to the developers, through its internal system  connects the user's phone, and during the entire stay at the airport  follows him, echoing his movements and keeping the necessary speed.  In addition, thanks to the embedded sensor system, the device detects  obstacles and successfully circumvents them. In case of attempted  theft, the system is blocked, after which it loudly signals possible  unauthorized interventions.. The young engineers plan that in the  final product with which the guys plan to enter the Armenian market,  the device will be connected to the airport security system, which  will keep the cargo safe and sound during the stay in the area.  ANEL  students told that in the future the device can be used for family  trips, for which the size of the device will twice exceed the  parameters of the existing prototype, and the weight of the allowable  load will be up to 100 kg. Also on the market will be similar devices  for solo travel, in particular for representatives of the business  segment.

"We would like  after the final development of the product, provide  it on rental terms to airports, large shopping centers, where people  could freely use it for cargo transportation, which will greatly  facilitate their stay at the airport or other facilities", Mkrtich  Harutyunyan said.  To note, the "Armenian National Engineering  Laboratories" center was founded in September 2013. It is a center of  excellence, which houses 30 educational and research laboratories.  ANEL is located on the territory of the main branch of the  National  Polytechnic University of Armenia (NPUA)  and occupies four floors of  the 10th building with a total area of 1600 sq. m. ANEL's main goal  is to meet the existing demand in specialists and graduates with  technical education, in accordance with modern requirements, in order  to fill the shortage of employees in Armenian high-tech companies and  promote the development of an innovative business environment,  thereby increasing the international competitiveness of large  Armenian companies.
