Volume of cargo traffic in Armenia in January-July 2019 decreased by  55.7% with growth of passenger transportation by 4.2%

ArmInfo. The volume of cargo traffic in Armenia in January- July 2019 compared to the same period in 2018 decreased by 55.7% (against growth by 10.4% a year  earlier), amounting to 7,490.9 thousand tons. Of these, 4 762.5  thousand tons (63.6% of the total) accounted for road transport with  a YOY decline of 66.6%. This is evidenced by the data of the RA  Statistical Committee.

According to statistical data, rail freight for the reporting period  increased by 1.8% - up to 1,702.7 thousand tons, air transportation  by 9.6% - up to 10.3 thousand tons. 1 015.4 thousand tons of natural  gas was delivered via the main pipeline, which is 3.8% more than in  the same period last year. Cargo turnover increased by 6.3% - up to  2,591.5 million tons-km.

Passenger traffic during the reporting period increased by 4.2%  (against a decline of 7.9% last year), amounting to 110 816.3  thousand people. At the same time, rail passenger transportation grew  by 10.2% - up to 229.6 thousand people, air transportation - by 28%  to 1 953 thousand people , cars- by 3.7% and passenger transportation  by electric transport - by 4.9% to 14 066.2 thousand people.  Passenger turnover increased by 5% - up to 1,486 million  passenger-km.
