In Armenia by October 2019 birth rate decreased by 0.1%, with an  increase in mortality by 2.2% 

ArmInfo.In Armenia, in January-September 2019, 26.535 children were born. According to the  RA Statistical Committee, the birth rate in the country on an  annualized basis decreased by 0.1%, and in the two-year context - by  4.1%. According to the results of the reporting period, the birth  rate per 1000 inhabitants amounted to 12 ppm, against the same level  a year ago and 12.4 two years earlier.

The highest birth rate was registered in Yerevan, where 10.483  children were born during the reporting period. Following are the  regions of Ararat, Armavir, Shirak and Kotayk, where the number of  children born exceeds 2.000. There are more than 1.000 children born  in the Gegharkunik, Lori and Aragatsotn regions. In Syunik and  Tavush, slightly more than 900 children were born. And the lowest  birth rate is registered in Vayots Dzor region - 377 children.

According to statistics, 19.655 people died in the reporting period  in Armenia, with a y-o-y growth of 2.2%.  The mortality rate in the  country was 8.9 ppm, compared to 8.7 ppm for the same period in 2018.  The absolute value of the natural population growth was 6.880 people,  which is 5.9% less than the y-o-y indicator. The coefficient of  natural population growth was 3.1 ppm, compared to 3.3 ppm for the  same period in 2018. According to statistical data, the population of  Armenia as of October 1, 2019 amounted to 2.958 million people,  having decreased by 0.4% or 11.7 thousand in y-o-y terms.
