ArmInfo. Issues related to the organization of the processing industry were the subject of discussions held the day before at the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia.
According to the press service of the department, heads of the companies Zangezur CMC, Chaarat Kapan, Agarak CMC, Akhtala, Teghout and representatives of other interested organizations took part in the discussions. The Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia Lilia Shushanyan noted that the Government of Armenia has declared the process of ensuring a complete processing chain a priority in the mining industry, in particular in the smelting industry, and expects the participation of mining companies in this field in terms of knowledge, investment and human resources. During the meeting, issues related to ensuring a complete technological chain, the construction of a smelter, the possible participation and format of mining companies in these activities were discussed. Company executives welcomed the government's initiative to develop the processing industry and agreed to present their vision of participation in this chain. Earlier, ArmInfo reported that Chinese investors showed interest in building a new, modern copper smelter in the Armenian city of Alaverdi.
