Ministry of Economy: The share of SMEs in the GDP of Armenia is only  25-26%

ArmInfo.According to the latest data, the share of SMEs in the GDP structure of Armenia is  25-26%. On December 20, answering the question of ArmInfo  correspondent,  Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia  Naria Margaryan reported.

, she said, noting that  according to the latest data, 68.5 thousand SMEs are registered in  Armenia.

Continuing the above, Margaryan noted that following the results of  2018, there are certain positive shifts in terms of business activity  in the regions. In this regard, she emphasized that during the  reporting period it was revealed that 70% of the added value of SME  products was produced in Yerevan, while years earlier this indicator  was slightly higher - at the level of 75%.

The deputy minister added that 50% of SMEs work in the capital. In  the regions, the most active from the point of view of business  development are Lori, Kotayk and Ararat regions, and Vayots Dzor and  Aragatston are considered the most passive. The sectors in the  regions are dominated by trade, processing industry and  construction.
