ArmInfo.The unemployment rate in Armenia, calculated by the new method, increased over the Quarter 3 of 2019 from 17.7% to 18%, against 20.1% a year earlier. According to the RA Statistical Committee, the new calculation method does not take into account those employed in the household.
According to the source, in the quarter 3 of 2019 the number of unemployed in Armenia amounted to 216.9 thousand people, with an annual decline of 7.2%.
In September, the number of applications from employers amounted to 3997 (annual growth of 1.3 times), with a load of 21 people for 1 vacancy (a decline of 27.6% per annum). In the same period, 1,061 citizens managed to find a job (an annual decline of 0.8%) or 1.3% of the total number of job seekers. Of the number of employed 310 people are men (with an increase of 6.2% per annum), and 751 people-women (annual decline of 3.5%).
It should be noted that according to the forecast of the Central Bank of Armenia updated in September, the unemployment rate in 2019 will be 21.7% (as calculated by the new methodology), followed by an annual decline in the medium term by 0.1-0.2 percentage points to 20%
