ArmInfo. The volume of industrial production in Armenia in January-November 2019 accelerated y-o-y growth from 4.1% to 9.3%, exceeding 1.8 trillion drams ($ 3.8 billion). This is due to an improvement in the trend of the mining sector which turned from the recession to growth and maintaining the upward dynamics of the manufacturing industry.
In November 2019 alone industrial production demonstrated an increase of 6.9% (against the downward 6.8% in November 2018), with a volume of 212.7 billion drams ($ 445.8 million). This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee.

In the manufacturing industry, decline in the volumes in January-November 2019 was recorded only in the production of jewelry (by 6.9%), base metals (by 4.4%), and computers, electrical and optical equipment (by 0.3%). At the same time, significant growth was recorded in the production of textiles (1.7-fold), other non-metallic mineral products (by 43.3%), finished metal products (by 41.7%) and furniture (by 41.1%). In the manufacturing sector, food products (456.5 billion drams), cigarettes (175.5 billion drams), drinks (166.7 billion drams), and base metals (154.5 billion drams) are leaders in terms of production volumes.
According to statistical data, the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning as a whole decreased in January-November 2019 versus the same period in 2018 by 0.9% (against growth by 6.9% a year earlier) - to 228.2 billion drams. In November alone growth of 4.6% was recorded - up to 21.8 billion drams. Moreover, the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in January-November showed a decline of 3.3% per annum (compared with a decline of 4% in November), while gas production and distribution of gaseous fuels through gas supply systems increased by 10.6% per annum (with an increase 1.7-fold in November).
Revenues from water supply, waste treatment and recycling and the receipt of secondary raw materials decreased in January-November by 2.1% per annum (against a 2.7% decline a year earlier) - to 23.1 billion drams, with a decline in November by 5.6 % - up to 1.8 billion drams. Moreover, the downward trend in this segment was mainly determined by the collection, processing and destruction of waste, the receipt of secondary raw materials, in particular, the annual decline amounted to 32.5%, and 8.2% per month.
