ArmInfo. Subvention programs should be the cornerstone of territorial development strategies. This was announced by the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a meeting in the Government of the Republic of Armenia, in which the heads of regional administrations took part.
"We must also ensure that the programs implemented by the government and the private sector in the communities are as concentrated as possible, in terms of financial resources, so that their implementation leads to more visible, tangible results," he said.
Pashinyan also emphasized that subvention programs are more successfully implemented in larger communities, where there is a certain concentration of funds, both in terms of volume and quality.
In turn, the Minister of Territorial Administration of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan noted that in 2019 subvention programs were implemented in the regions of Armenia for a total of 16.4 billion drams, of which 9.6 billion drams was co-financing of the government.
"In 2019 we made transfers worth 6.4 billion drams. We will direct the remainder during 2020, giving contractors the opportunity to correct mistakes. When the work is done properly, we will transfer the remaining part of the funds. This is an important message for contractors, so that it is clear to everyone that the quality criterion is extremely important for us,> he said. At the same time, according to Papikyan, this year, within the framework of cooperation with the UN development program, it is planned to introduce energy-saving systems in the regions for about $ 9 million, which will make all panel buildings energy- efficient.
According to the report, during the meeting the participants also discussed the current problems faced by the heads of regional communities and ways to solve them.
