MP: Armenian NPP is paid for work that has not been completed until  the end

ArmInfo. Despite the incompleteness of the program, the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant is already making loan payments of $ 270 million, previously provided by  the Government of the Russian Federation to extend the life of the  Armenian NPP. On January 24, Mikayel Melkumyan, Chairof the Standing  Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration, said this from the  rostrum of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.

The MP noted that the amount of deductions for the loan is already  included in the electricity tariff for the ANPP. Thus, as Mikayel  Melkumyan noted, the additional burden will ultimately amount to  about 6 billion drams. At the same time, as the MP noted, the program  itself was not completed, however, from January 1, 2020, the station  carries out a subsidiary of Rosatom State Corporation --  corresponding deductions for work that has not actually been  completed until the end.

To note, according to the agreement, all extension work was supposed  to be completed before the end of 2019, but now it turns out that  there is a need to extend the project implementation time by another  2 years - until December 31, 2021.
