ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan instructed to check media information that among the shareholders of the country's largest mining enterprise - Zangezur Copper- Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC) - there are people, affiliated with senior officials of the former political regime. This was announced by the prime minister at a press conference in Syunik, answering the question whether the legal procedure was given to this information.
According to the prime minister, after this information appeared, he ordered to verify this information and if it is confirmed, then he did not exclude the existence of corruption risks in this regard. , said Pashinyan.
It should be noted that Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine CJSC is the largest mining company in Armenia. The company's shareholders are officially the German Cronimet Mining company (60%), Yerevan Pure Iron Plant OJSC (15%), Armenian Molybdenum Production LLC and Zangezur Mining LLC (12.5% each). However, some experts, after checking the information, considered it incomplete and not transparent, since the structure of minority shareholders is not clear. The press passed information about the presence of interests in it on the part of the family members of the tformer President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan who resigned after the "velvet revolution". A number of parliamentarians of Armenia appealed to the relevant authorities with a demand to start an investigation into the fact that rather "modest" persons, especially close to the family of the former president, began to own the multimillion-dollar assets of the company.
