ArmInfo. "Armenal" plant continues to be one of the leaders in terms of social policy in the mining and metallurgical industry of Armenia. Eduard Pakhlevanyan, Chairman of the Republican Union of Professional Organizations of Miners, Metallurgists and Jewelers - Members of the Trade Union Confederation of Armenia, expressed a similar opinion during a January 31 press conference.
In particular, he noted that from year to year in the mining and metallurgical sectors of Armenia there is an increase in the social orientation of enterprises and a desire to comply with international labor standards. Pahlevanyan emphasized that the key task of the Industry Union in this regard is the protection of enterprises, that is, the interests of employees, ensuring the proper conditions for their work and rest. "Either we protect the rights of enterprises, or we will again be left with nothing," he said.
As an example, Pahlevanyan referred to the "Armenal" factory, where, according to him, posters and billboards on the subject of labor protection can be seen throughout the enterprise. "Entering the territory of the plant, clear messages immediately appear on how the labor protection and industrial safety program will be implemented," he emphasized.
At the same time, the head of the Union also focused on the enterprise's policy regarding the provision of conditions for employees to relax.
According to him Armenal's employees are provided with funds to pay for vouchers to health resorts.
"Armenal", established in Yerevan in May 2000 on the basis of the Kanaker Aluminum Plant, is one of the largest industrial enterprises in Armenia and the only producer of aluminum foil in the Caucasus and Central Asia. In 2000, joined the RUSAL Corporation.
