Grand Tobacco joint venture topped the list of largest taxpayers in  2019

ArmInfo.According to the results of 2019, the list of the largest taxpayers of Armenia was headed by the Armenian-Canadian joint venture "Grand Tobacco"  (against the 2nd position a year earlier), having paid over 57  billion drams or about $ 119 million to the state treasury (with a  y-o-y growth of 35.1%).

Of these, 4.9 billion drams - for customs  duties, 11.2 billion drams - for direct taxes (including income tax,  profit tax), 45.3 billion drams - for indirect taxes (including VAT,  excise tax). This is evidenced by the published data of the State  Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

Zangezur Molybdenum Combine CJSC moved to the second position from  the first one a year earlier, having paid 51.4 billion drams to the  state budget, of which 2.2 billion drams for customs duties, 26.8  billion drams for direct taxes (including income tax , profit tax),  2.2 billion drams - on indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax).

Previously traditionally leading Gazprom Armenia CJSC is now in the  third place, as in 2018. Tax payments to the budget amounted to 43.6  billion drams, of which 158.4 million drams - for customs duties, 6.1  billion drams - for direct taxes, 36.9 billion drams - for indirect  taxes.

International Masis Tabak rose to fourth place, from the 9th a year  earlier, with tax payments of 19.2 billion drams, of which 3.2  billion drams in customs duties, 5.7 billion drams in direct taxes,  12.1 billion drams - for indirect taxes.

According to the results of 2019, the top five leaders are closed by  JTI Armenia CJSC (instead of the 7th position a year earlier). The  company's contributions to the state budget amounted to 16.4 billion  drams, of which 15 billion drams - for customs duties, 618.7 million  drams - for direct taxes, 15.8 billion drams - for indirect taxes.

In total, the top five taxpayers paid taxes to the budget amounting  187.7 billion drams (with a y-o-y growth of 11.9%), of which 50.5  billion - on direct taxes (including income tax, profit tax) and  112.3 billion drams - on indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax).

The top 5 leaders are followed by the Flash oil trader (the 6th  position versus the 10th year earlier), CPS Oil Corporation (7th  position versus the 4th year earlier), Philip Morris LLC (8th  position, as a year earlier), GeoPromining (9th position, versus 5th  year earlier) and VEON Armenia (10th position, versus 45th year  earlier).

According to the SRC, the 1000 largest taxpayers of Armenia paid over  1 trillion drams to the state treasury, which is 13% higher than the  indicator a year ago.

To note, according to the results of 2018, TOP-5 included Zangezur  Molybdenum Combine CJSC, Grand Tobacco Joint Venture, Gazprom Armenia  CJSC, CIS Oil Corporation and GeoPromining. In total, they  transferred 167.6 billion drams to the budget, of which over 50  billion - for direct taxes (including income tax, profit tax) and  90.6 billion drams - for indirect taxes (including VAT excise tax).  (The calculated exchange rate of the dram as of December 31, 2019 was  479.70 AMD / $ 1).
