In 2019, decline in Armenia`s metallurgical industry slowed down to  4.7%

ArmInfo. In 2019, the metallurgical industry of Armenia slowed down the decline in  production volumes to 4.7% from 7.2% in 2018 (against an increase of  11.3% in 2017). This is evidenced by the data of the Statistical  Committee of RA.

Ferromolybdenum production in Armenia slowed down growth in 2019 to  5.5% from 10.6% in 2018, amounting to 7,712 tons. In December alone,  601 tons of ferromolybdenum were produced, which is 18.3% less than  the November volume.

In January-December 2019, the production of molybdenum concentrate  accelerated growth to 28.9% from 1.4% in 2018, amounting to 14 322  tons, and in December alone, an increase of 33.5% was recorded - up  to 1,276 tons. In 2019, the production of copper concentrate  increased by 26% (against a decline of 25.9% in 2018), amounting to  400 thousand tons, and in December alone the volume amounted to 38.3  thousand tons, with a monthly decline of 4.7%. According to the  results of 2019, there are no data on the production of converter  (blister) copper in the statistical report, but in 2018 volumes  decreased by 26.7% - up to 8831 tons.

The production of aluminum foil in 2019 increased by 7.7% - up to 30  547 tons (against a decline of 14.5% in 2018). In December alone,  aluminum foil production fell by 28.3% to 2,008 tons. There are no  data on the production of aluminum rolled products in the statistical  report for 2019, but in 2018 there was a decrease of 69.8% to 164  tons.

The production of steel pipes, hollow profiles and fittings increased  by 7.6% in 2019 (against a decline of 3.5% in 2018), amounting to  11,341 tons, with a monthly decline of 5.9% - up to 986 tons.

Zinc concentrate production increased by 3.8% in 2019 (against growth  by 12.3% in 2018), amounting to 11,238 tons, of which 1,179 tons is  the December volume with monthly growth of 31.9%.

Alloy (carbon) steel castings were produced in 2019 in the amount of  14,810 tons, which is 15.2% lower than the annual indicator. In  December alone they were produced in the amount of 892.4 tons, with a  monthly decline of 47.5%.

All metals produced in Armenia are mainly exported to Europe and the  USA.
