ArmInfo. Local self-government bodies of Armenia will receive the right to co-finance programs related to capital construction. At its meeting on February 12, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia discussed the amendments to the laws "On Local Self- Government" and "On the Budget System" proposed by the government.
According to the Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the Republic of Armenia Vache Terteryan, according to the amendments, it is proposed to provide the communities with the right to co-finance capital construction programs from the budget funds with the proviso that the investments formed in these secondary and tertiary assets will go to the balance of local self-government bodies. The deputy minister noted that recently there has been an increase in investment flows into capital construction programs. The government of the country also takes part in this matter. If, for example, the community and the government co-finance a program for the construction of a kindergarten, then this kindergarten will have to go to the balance of the community. It is expected that the vote on the bill will take place on February 13.
