Nikol Pashinyan: The referendum will have a positive impact on the  economic situation in Armenia

ArmInfo.A referendum on amendments to the Constitution will have a positive impact on the economic situation in Armenia. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol  Pashinyan stated this on February 12 from the rostrum of the  parliament.

Pashinyan said that the campaign before the referendum will activate  the country's economy. "The main factor that has an impact on the  economy is the confidence of the citizens of Armenia in their future.  I am more than convinced that the campaign will in no way affect the  economy in a negative sense. On the contrary, the referendum will  strengthen the faith of citizens in the future, therefore, the  economic situation will improve ",  assured the prime minister.

The Prime Minister also noted that this campaign also activates  tourism in Armenia. "Many of our compatriots will come to Armenia to  vote in a referendum. We are creating a new type of tourism, election  tourism. I think that our compatriots who are citizens of Armenia,  realizing the importance of these reforms, will definitely come,  especially considering the fact that now you can buy air tickets at  very affordable prices. Those Armenians who are not citizens of  Armenia can also take part in this process. I think they will be  interested to see how democracy is strengthening in Armenia,  "Pashinyan concluded.

It should be noted that on February 6, the parliament adopted a  referendum decision at which Armenian citizens will decide whether  they agree to amend the Constitution of the country. On April 5, a  constitutional referendum will be held in Armenia, at which the issue  of judges of the Constitutional Court will be decided. Many MPs and  human rights activists said that this decision is unconstitutional,  since initially the lawmakers had to forward their proposals to the  Constitutional Court.  According to the decision adopted on February  11 at the CEC meeting, the campaign will be held from February 17 to  April 3.
