Armenia plans to double leasing operations

ArmInfo. It is planned to double the volume of leasing operations in Armenia. The government at a meeting on February 13 approved a package of draft laws that will  be submitted to the parliament in the prescribed manner. It is, in  particular, about such initiatives as the law "On Banks and Banking",  the Civil Code, the law "On Credit Organizations" and others.

As the Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Avag  Avanesyan noted in his speech, within the framework of the government  initiative, it is proposed to abandon the tripartite conclusion of  leasing agreements and switch to bilateral. The fact is that when the  contract expires, the person who has leased the equipment has  returned it to the bank that issued the loan. However, a financial  institution does not have the right to further use this equipment  without the appropriate permission of the owner or manufacturer. Now  banks will be given the opportunity to form a secondary leasing  market, and, as a result, double the volume of leasing operations.
