January inflation was triggered to a greater extent by a rise in prices for food products (including alcohol and cigarettes) by 2.8% (against a 3.8% increase in January 2019) and an increase in tariffs for services by 0.3% (against 0.2% growth in January 2019), with the cheapening of non-food products by 0.3% (against the 0.6% decline in January 2019). Consumers in the capital for January of this year in the capital increased by 1.1%, against the 1.2% growth in January 2019.

It should be noted that according to the results of 2019 (January-December), inflation was recorded in the consumer market of Armenia was lower - 0.7%, compared to 1.8% in 2018. In December 2019 alone, consumer prices increased by 1.3% due to a rise in prices for food products by 2.7% and an increase in tariffs for services by 0.2%, while prices for non-food products remained constant. In Yerevan, consumer prices increased in December 2019 by 1.1% (against 1.6% growth in December 2018).
