ArmInfo. The number of cash register receipts issued to Armenian citizens is growing steadily. On February 18, David Ananyan, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of the RA, stated this in an interview with reporters.
According to him, only in January 2020, compared to the same period of the previous year, 9 million more cash register receipts were issued in Armenia. The head of the Committee noted that there is a certain group of people who prefer to work in the "shadow", but the task of the SRC is to bring them into the legal field and to create a taxpayer culture. At the same time, the head of the Committee expressed his disagreement with the prevailing opinion about the need to encourage people who require cash register receipts. According to him, this system will not promote the culture of taxation, and will also lead to the formation of relations based on profit. "It is necessary to follow the method of persuasion and appeal," David Ananyan believes.
He also noted that in order to collect taxes stipulated by the provisions of the law "On the state budget", three factors are necessary - economic growth, the availability of good instruments in monetary policy and an effective administration system. At the same time, SRC is not limited to only the third factor, setting itself the task of contributing to the growth of the country's GDP. A qualitative change in the situation is evidenced by the fact that from May 2018 to January 27, 2020, the number of jobs increased by 87 thousand. Some of them were taken out of the shadows, the other due to the creation of new jobs.
David Ananyan also emphasized that every month 24-26 thousand calls are received on the department's hotline, most of which relate to problems with cash registers.
