As Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan noted in his speech, the structure of the report remained unchanged. It summarizes the facts presented by the Prime Minister of Armenia in his speech "100 facts about New Armenia," as well as presents new figures that are collected and summarized. The document was discussed at middle interdepartmental levels.
In turn, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan noted that accountability is an essential component in the activities of the government. The presence in the document of individual segments indicates the quality of the work done by ministries and departments. He called for a self-test in order to find out how many facts concern this or that department. And against this background, the head of government continued, to evaluate his own activities. Further, the Prime Minister touched on the results of the past year, highlighting the highest level of GDP growth in the EAEU countries, the region and the entire European space, which turned out to be at the level of 7.6%. The structure of GDP also changed, in which the processing industry began to play a predominant role, excluding the mining industry. The share of the processing industry amounted to 12% of the country's GDP. The prime minister also recalled a 14.4% increase in tourism and services, a return of about $ 90 million to economic entities in the form of VAT, an increase in budget revenues of 306 billion drams, some of which were aimed at increasing salaries for military personnel and teachers.
The facts cited by Nikol Pashinyan were joined by the Minister of High-Tech Industry Hakob Arshakyan, who noted that the field of information technology in 2019 compared with 2018 recorded a 30% growth. It should be noted that according to the data of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, the indicator of economic activity in January - December 2019 compared to the same period in 2018 increased by 7.8%. In particular, in January - December 2019, industrial output grew by 9%, gross agricultural output decreased by 4.2%, construction volume grew by 4.6%, and trade turnover - by 8.9%. The volume of services in January - December 2019 increased by 15%. The consumer price index last year increased by 1.4%, and the industrial price index - by 0.5%. Electricity production in January - December 2019 decreased by 1.9% compared to the same period in 2018. The average monthly nominal salary in Armenia in January - December 2019 increased by 5.8% compared to the same period last year, amounting to 182 thousand 750 drams. At the same time, the average monthly salary in the state link increased by 8.4%, and in the non-state one by 3.8%. The volume of foreign trade turnover increased by 10.4%. At the same time, exports grew by 9.4%, and imports by 10.8%.
