ArmInfo.Micro-business in Armenia may receive additional support in resolving legal issues. At a meeting of the Standing Committee on the Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, amendments to the Law "On Advocacy" are discussed.
As the author of the presented document noted, the NA deputy Sergey Bagratyan, often micro-business enterprises that do not have legal information are in a difficult position. Especially when it comes to relations in the space of the Eurasian Economic Union. The document is aimed exclusively at non- residents, and is intended to protect the interests of Armenian citizens in other EAEU countries, and vice versa, the interests of Union citizens in the country. In particular, it is stipulated that in case of problems with the legislation, representatives of the family business with an annual turnover of 24 million drams could get the necessary legal advice at the office of a public defender free of charge. Initially, it was planned to establish a provision regarding the annual turnover of 50 million drams, which the government did not agree with. In this regard, the initiator of the document lowered the threshold to 24 million drams. According to him, the monthly turnover of family business or micro-business enterprises is 2 million drams or 65 thousand drams per month. Even with a 10% profitability, their turnover will still not be at the level to attract lawyers if necessary, paying them 300-400 thousand drams to protect their interests in the courts. For this reason, it is proposed to establish a certain free benefit in the form of legal services for non- residents. Moreover, we are talking exclusively about administrative matters. It is also proposed to increase the staff of the public defender's office in order to address such issues.
