Armenia increased export of aluminum foil by 15.1% in 2019

ArmInfo. In 2019, Armenia increased the export of aluminum foil by 15.1% (against the 14.6% decline a year earlier), amounting to a total of about 32.6 thousand  tons.  According to the RA Customs Service, aluminum foil is in the  TOP-10 of the most expensive goods in the export line of Armenia.

Less modest growth was recorded in value terms of foil exports, due  to lower prices on the international market. So, according to the  source, the customs value of aluminum foil increased by 2.5% in 2019,  amounting to $ 95.1 million.

The foil was mainly exported to Germany (31.7%), the USA (29.7%),  Poland (10.8%), the Netherlands (10.4%), Italy (5.4%), France (5%),  Austria (3.2%), as well as the United Kingdom, Denmark, Czech  Republic, Gabon, Spain, the Russian Federation, Georgia.

At the same time, during the reporting period, Armenia reduced the  volume of imported foil by 37.2% (against 2.2 fold growth) to 2  thousand tons. At the same time, the customs value also decreased -  by 28.7%, amounting to $ 8.4 million. Mostly the foil was imported  from Greece (89.6%), China (4.3%), Russia (3.8%), the remaining  volume was imported from Ukraine, UAE, Italy, Poland, Iran, Turkey,  Germany, USA.

According to the RA Statistical Committee, in 2019, the production of  aluminum foil increased by 7.7% to 30,547 tons, compared to a 14.5%  decline in 2018. Exceeding the 30 thousandth milestone is recorded  for the second time, and for the first time this was observed at the  end of 2017 with a volume of 33,724 tons.
