Armenia increased production of all alcoholic beverages with  exception of whiskey in 2019

ArmInfo.In 2019, Armenia increased the production of all alcoholic beverages, with the exception of whiskey.

According to the data of the country's Statistical Committee, 43.5  million liters brandy were produced in the country during the  reporting period, which is 41.5% more than the indicator a year ago  (instead of 2.5% growth for the same period a year earlier).

The volume of wine produced accelerated growth from 0.3% to 31.6%,  amounting to 12.6 million liters, champagne - by 34.2% to 1 million  liters, against a decline of 12.8% a year earlier. According to the  RA Customs Service, in 2019, Armenia exported over 2.7 million liters  wine, with a y-o-y growth of 11.4%, with an increase in customs value  by 25.1% to $ 11.8 million. It is worth noting that in the reports of  the customs service there is no data on the export of brandy for no  apparent reason.

Traditionally, the Russian Federation has been the main export market  for Armenian wine, increasing its share in 2019 to 75.1% from 72.3%  in 2018, followed by the United States (5.3% against 3.4% a year  earlier), China (2, 7% against 5% a year earlier), Switzerland (1.8%  against 4%), Poland (1.6% against 2%), France (1.5% against 1.8%),  Ukraine (1.4 % against 1.2%), Italy (0.7% against 1.5%), as well as  Belarus, Belgium, Germany, Kazakhstan, Georgia, the Netherlands,  Canada, the United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Israel, Sweden, Estonia,  Bulgaria, Greece, Australia, Austria, Oman, Japan, Spain, Finland,  Denmark.

Vodka production increased by 18.6% (against the decline by 31.1% in  2018) to 5.9 million liters, and beer - by 11.4% (against the growth  by 15.3%) to 26.3 million liters. Beer export for the reporting  period increased by 2.3% to 1.5 million liters, while the customs  value increased by 0.7% to $ 1.2 million.

The main market for export deliveries of Armenian beer is the Russian  Federation (having reduced its share from 85.4% in 2018 by 75.6% in  2019), the USA (7.1% in 2019 compared to 4% in 2018), Poland (3, 7%  against 3.9%), France (3.6% against 2%), China (2.9%), Ukraine (2.2%  against 1.6%), Georgia (1.3% against 1 %), as well as Belgium, Czech  Republic, Latvia, Greece, Hong Kong, etc.

According to statistical data, during the reporting period, 712.9  thousand liters whiskey were produced in Armenia, which is 11.6% less  than the indicator a year ago (against a decline of 23.3% a year  earlier).

At the same time, in 2019 Armenia increased the export of ethyl  alcohol (with a strength of up to 80 degrees), including  alcohol-containing tinctures, liquor and other alcoholic beverages -  by 34.3% to 33.1 million liters. At the same time, their customs  value amounted to $ 253.3 million, which is 27.7% more than the  indicator a year ago.

Mostly, Armenia exports ethyl alcohol to the Russian market (91% in  2019 compared to 90.4% in 2018), Belarus (2.1%), Georgia (0.5%),  Kazakhstan (0.4%), Moldova (0, 3%), the remaining volume was  distributed between a number of countries, including the USA,  Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Czech Republic, China, Ukraine,  the Netherlands, Estonia, Israel, the Arab Republic of Syria,  Bulgaria, Turkmenistan, Denmark, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates,  Hungary, Singapore, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Oman, Austria, etc.
