ArmInfo. A meeting was held at the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, during which a strategy for the development of small and medium-sized businesses was presented. This was reported by the press service of the government.
The Prime Minister noted that his government initially formulated the concept of addressing poverty and welfare through employment. <The first thought emanating from this concept, of course, is related to small and medium-sized enterprises. During this time, the perception of small and medium-sized businesses has changed around the world. In the past, SMEs were perceived as a certain auxiliary field and system of the economy. However, crises have shown that SMEs are more flexible and have a higher level of resistance to economic collapse>, the prime minister said.
"The development strategy of SMEs is very important in the further development of our economy as a whole, as well as in terms of implementing our concept of the economic revolution," Pashinyan said. Responsible persons reported that the goal of the strategy is to ensure the performance of SMEs, increase employment, expand markets, and take consistent measures to improve the business environment through government support.
The Prime Minister noted the importance of periodically organizing campaigns and events aimed at ensuring public awareness of this and other strategies.
