Electric cars from third countries can be imported in the EAEU  without duties until the end of 2021

ArmInfo.Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan today participated in a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Council, which was held via  videoconference.

The agenda of the meeting included, in particular: "The issue of  setting the unified customs tariff of EAEU import customs duty rate  for electric cars; the issue of developing agreed measures and  recommendations for maintaining macroeconomic stability, mutual trade  in goods and freedom of movement of labor in the EAEU space in  connection with the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus "approaches to the  duty-free import of goods for personal use acquired by individuals  through international electronic commerce and more."

According to the press service of the Armenian government, on the  proposal of Armenia, a decision was made in case of importation of  medicines and personal protective equipment from third countries into  the territory of the EAEU, the customs duty should be set at 0% for  six months.

Following the meeting, it was also decided to abolish the customs  duty on electric vehicles imported from third countries into the EAEU  by the end of 2021.
