ArmInfo.The daily production of alcogel, an antimicrobial disinfectant, doubled in Armenia. Chairman of the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC) Gegham Gevorgyan said this at a government meeting on March 19.
Whereas previously three business entities were engaged in the production of alcogel in the republic, today their number has increased to five. An analysis of the sales volume indicates panic purchases: according to Gevorgyan, some citizens, based on market research, have backlog alcogel reserves that exceed even the daily level of consumption. Meanwhile, not only alcogel, but its raw materials are produced in Armenia: the production of alcogel in the daily volume has increased from 8 thousand liters to 12.6 thousand liters.
As for medical face masks, today a large batch is expected to arrive in the republic. Meanwhile, Gevorgyan informed that on this part there are some issues related to the documentation. In addition, China announced its readiness to supply an unlimited number of batches of medical masks (1 million pieces in one batch). Their value inside China itself, in terms of the Armenian currency, is 84 drams apiece.
For his part, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan noted that Armenia has all its domestic resources for all types of essential goods (including eggs, meat, vegetables). To recall in March 16, the state of emergency was introduced in connection with the coronavirus, which will last until 17:00 on April 14.
