EAEU has taken new measures to combat coronavirus

ArmInfo. The Eurasian Economic Commission has created a coordinating council to monitor the situation with the spread of coronavirus. This was reported by the  EEC press service.

According to the source, chairman of the EEC Board, on March 19  Mikhail Myasnikovich, issued an order to establish an interim  coordinating council to monitor the situation related to coronavirus  infection. The Council was created to assist the governments of the  EAEU countries in the fight against coronavirus and to develop agreed  measures and recommendations.

The interim coordination council will provide mechanisms for the  mutual exchange of information in the EAEU countries. To this end, it  is planned to post information on all measures taken on the official  website of the EAEU and to facilitate the work and implementation of  decisions of the Council of Heads of Authorized Bodies in the field  of sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the population of the  Union countries. In addition, based on the results of monitoring and  information exchange, the council will develop proposals and  recommendations, submit them to the chairman of the EEC Board and, if  necessary, for consideration at meetings of the board and committee  of the commission. The interim coordination council included members  of the EEC Board (ministers): on customs cooperation Nurlan Akmatov,  on domestic markets, informatization, information and communication  technologies Gegham Vardanyan, on integration and macroeconomics  Sergey Glazyev, on economics and financial policy Timur Zhaksylykov,  on technical regulation Victor Nazarenko and trade- Andrey Slepnev.

Earlier, the ECE introduced a set of business support measures  designed to help offset the negative consequences of the coronavirus  pandemic. The EEC also decided to nullify duties on medical products  that are used to combat COVID-19.

Currently, the following number of cases of coronavirus has been  registered in other EAEU countries: in Russia - 199 people, in  Armenia - 136, in Belarus - 69, in Kazakhstan - 49, in Kyrgyzstan -  6.
