EEC Council expanded the list of goods exempted from import customs  duty

ArmInfo.  In order to minimize the negative economic consequences of the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19, to prevent a shortage of socially important goods in the EAEU countries, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission on  April 3 approved a list of critical import goods. In relation to  them, a tariff exemption is provided in the form of exemption from  import customs duties when importing into the states of the Eurasian  Economic Union from April 1 to June 30 of this year inclusive.

The list of these products includes selected agricultural and food  products (potatoes, onions, garlic, cabbage, carrots, peppers, rye,  long-grain rice, buckwheat, juices and prepared foods for baby food),  selected finished medicines and medical supplies (endoscopes ,  non-contact thermometers, disposable pipettes, mobile disinfection  units).

In addition, the list of goods used for the production of medicines,  as well as medical supplies has been expanded (it includes thermal  bags, films for sealing bottles, medical freezers), the import of  which is carried out duty-free from March 16 to September 30 of this  year, provided that the intended purpose is confirmed goods.

<In a matter of days, we worked out the lists together with the  governments of the countries and authorized national departments.  Today it is imperative to take into account the changing demand from  the consumers of our countries, both the population and medical  organizations. It is important to respond promptly to new  challenges>, said Andrei Slepnev, Minister for Trade of the EEC.

The EEC Council decided to temporarily simplify the use of  certificates of origin of form <A> issued by developing and least  developed countries. This will allow for six months to use a paper or  electronic copy of certificates and not to present their originals at  customs declaration.
